Teammates

A couple of years ago, my girls switched gyms and found themselves with new coaches and teammates.  More importantly, they found themselves with new friends.  These girls have helped their transition to Fargo be so easy and so successful.  I love this shot from their meet this past weekend showing their closeness and their true excitement for the success of a teammate.  Finding smiles at a gymnastics meet can sometimes be a difficult task!:) It’s nice to have this moment captured.

January

January has been full of gymnastics, traveling, relaxing at home, renewing my scrapbook plans, organizing, Pinterest, cupcake baking, planning for putting our house on the market, and so much more!  A few weekends ago, Brian took the girls to Des Moines for a meet and I took Katy to hers in Valley City.  It was nice having the weekend with her.

Renew and Refocus

Happy New Year!  Once again, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged.  December was a busy month and just didn’t find the time to blog.  It was a hectic, crazy, busy, fun, exciting 2011.  But all of that left me exhausted and not full of much motivation.  I’m hoping to be coming out of that post holiday funk and begin checking things off my “to do” list.

One of the top priorities on that list is to refocus and define my “passions”.  I have so many interests and hobbies that I often feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.  I’m currently in the process of updating my blog and refocusing on my love for photography and finding creative inspiration.   I am focusing on taking images of what inspired me to learn more about photography in the first place – my family and my life.  I miss taking their pictures and have realized that the downside of taking pictures of others (which I do really enjoy!) is that I don’t pick up my camera at home.  That makes me sad!  Now that Abby has completed half of her junior year in high school, I’m realizing how quickly that time is going to pass by and I want to be present to focus on all the excitement that comes with this time in her life.  So, the blog will have more personal images for a while as I challenge myself creatively.

Here’s one from Christmas Day at the lake!
